When outsourced QS support is useful
External support is most useful when workload changes faster than permanent staffing can reasonably accommodate. A competent outsourced workflow includes defined assumptions, traceable quantities, revision control and an independent review before figures are used. High-value trades, provisional allowances, exclusions and incomplete design areas should receive particular attention.
